The Institute of Sugar Beet Research (IfZ) in Göttingen is the central research institution in Germany for the development of efficient and environmentally friendly sugar beet cultivation systems. We develop reliable solutions for currant challenges in sugar beet cultivation: future-oriented cultivations systems, biodiversity and climate change, plant diseases and integrated crop protection, robotics and sensor technology including AI-supported data analysis.

The IfZ is an independently operating research institute and an affiliated institute of the University of Göttingen. We closely cooperate in teaching and research with the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.
